A House Update

The first two weeks of renovations seemed to move so slowly, and we felt like there was hardly any progress being made.  But they were busy bringing all of the electrical and plumbing issues up to date.  We passed inspections, and then things really got going!  They are starting painting this week!  I can't wait to go over a lot to make sure the colors are just what I was picturing!  Enjoy the pics showing progress!  I can't wait to see the final product!  Our contractor said yesterday that we are 3 weeks out, give or take a few days!  So really, Baby A and the house have the same due date...which one will come first?!

This is going to be my favorite spot in the house!  We took out a wet bar and bookshelf that was made completely out of wood paneling.  Now I have a desk, bookshelves, and we are putting a loveseat against the wall to look out into the backyard!  The laminate floors are coming up when they are ready to install our new wood floors.

A look into the kitchen.  They are painting the cabinets this week and installing the granite in about 10 days.

To the left is the dining room and to the right is the playroom.  They installed the crown molding this week and finished all of the dry wall and got it prepped to paint.

The guest bath...a jack n jill...probably the biggest mess in the house right now!  They will be putting new tile down and granite countertops and painting.

Our master bath, which was a shower/tub combo, and we changed it into a walk-in shower.

Landscaping!!  Trent's parents are in town this weekend working hard to get the front yard done.  Everything was very minimal and just green filler bushes.  We have added color and made the flower beds more defined.  I saw "we", but really all I've done is take kolaches for breakfast and Sonic drinks this afternoon! :)  Isn't this tree great?!  The original owners planted it when they moved in 43 years ago!

A mimosa tree that was already there and now has a pretty flower bed around it!

 Working hard!

The shutters were taken down to sand and repaint.

All of the goodies in our driveway...yes, we have a port-a-potty, bathtub, and dumpster.  I'm sure our neighbors just love us! :)

The bathtub was a good holding spot for the crape myrtles until they get planted!

And this was one of the decisions we made this week...our kitchen cabinet doors!  They will be painted brown.

And that's where we are as far as the house goes!  I will be sure to post pics once everything is painted this next week!  We are so anxious to move in and get settled!
