38 Weeks

 38 Weeks
And a view from the front...

How Far Along: 38 weeks....CANNOT believe I am less than 2 weeks away from my due date!
Size of baby: Baby A is between 7 and 8 pounds and about 20 inches long
Maternity Clothes: Yes, just 4 or 5 tops that still fit that I rotate through!
Gender: Surprise!  We are all getting very anxious to find out if Baby A is a boy or a girl!
Movement: Lots and lots of movements, sometimes painful.  Baby A has the hiccups 2 or 3 times a day still too!
Sleep: So thankful that sleep has not been an issue for me!  I am really sleeping pretty well, despite having to get up 3-4 times a night to use the restroom, waking up when I roll over, and the heartburn during the night.  And I'm loving my afternoon naps! :)
What I miss: my back not hurting, not waddling, being graceful when I get off the couch or out of bed!
Cravings: nothing really...
Symptoms: still hot all of the time, back pain, heartburn, achiness in joints
Best moment of the week: I've had 2 good doctor's appointments since last Monday!  I had to go back in last Thursday for a check-up after my bladder infection, and then I had my weekly appointment today.  Everything is looking great!  My Dr. actually said on Thursday, "I can't believe you're still pregnant!"  Ha...well I am!  I'm very thankful that my body is progressing, and we are ready for Baby A whenever he/she decides to make their grand entrance!
Looking forward to: hopefully enjoying a few more days of rest and relaxation...we are excited about a long weekend to hang out and watch college football!  I am sad, though, that we are missing the Baylor game on Sunday...we will be cheering loud from home!

We are making great progress on the house as well!  There is color on the walls, tile on the bathroom floors, and the wood floors are going down tomorrow!  It has been fun to see a lot of progress in the past couple of days!  We are officially under contract on our townhouse, and we were able to get most of the packing done this past weekend.  Lots of exciting, big changes in the next couple of weeks! :)

37 Weeks

37 Weeks...full term!!

How Far Along: 37 weeks...so thankful that I made it to full term!
Size of baby: Baby A is the size of a pumpkin...about 7 pounds and 20 inches long!
Maternity Clothes: Absolutely!
Gender: Surprise!  What's everybody's final prediction?!
Movement: Yes, the movements have become quite painful and uncomfortable at times.  Baby A is just running out of room!
Sleep: Still sleeping pretty good, I'm so thankful for this!  If I don't sleep well at night, then I just take a nap in the afternoon!  I'm loving my schedule! :)
What I miss: getting around easily, having energy, being comfortable, being able to pick things up off the floor
Cravings: still nothing out of the ordinary...I haven't been too hungry these last few weeks, and I actually lost a couple of pounds this past week between Dr.'s appointments
Symptoms: HOT.  I'm also still having achiness in my fingers and toes with a little bit of swelling.  My back hurts constantly too.
Best moment of the week: Making it to 37 weeks!  After last week's appointment my Dr. seemed to think that Baby A could come at anytime, and I definitely wanted to make it to 37 weeks!
Looking forward to: Just the feeling that we are getting closer and closer to meeting Baby A and finally knowing if we have a boy or a girl!! :)  I hope to make it another 10 days, but I know that Baby A is going to come on their on time frame.

Yesterday at my weekly appointment, my blood pressure was slightly elevated (130/90), which is high for me.  My norm is about 110/70.  I also wasn't feeling great and was running a slight fever so my Dr. sent me over to the hospital for monitoring and blood work.  Trent and I got to listen to Baby A's heartbeat for about an hour while I was hooked up to all of the machines!  My blood pressure dropped significantly after I lied down and was resting.  It got down to 96/64.  Turns out I have a bladder infection....blah!  I was sent home after about 2 hours with an antibiotic.  I'm thankful that my Dr. took that extra precaution and they were able to figure out what was wrong.  So all I have on my to-do list this week is to rest and relax!

A House Update

The first two weeks of renovations seemed to move so slowly, and we felt like there was hardly any progress being made.  But they were busy bringing all of the electrical and plumbing issues up to date.  We passed inspections, and then things really got going!  They are starting painting this week!  I can't wait to go over a lot to make sure the colors are just what I was picturing!  Enjoy the pics showing progress!  I can't wait to see the final product!  Our contractor said yesterday that we are 3 weeks out, give or take a few days!  So really, Baby A and the house have the same due date...which one will come first?!

This is going to be my favorite spot in the house!  We took out a wet bar and bookshelf that was made completely out of wood paneling.  Now I have a desk, bookshelves, and we are putting a loveseat against the wall to look out into the backyard!  The laminate floors are coming up when they are ready to install our new wood floors.

A look into the kitchen.  They are painting the cabinets this week and installing the granite in about 10 days.

To the left is the dining room and to the right is the playroom.  They installed the crown molding this week and finished all of the dry wall and got it prepped to paint.

The guest bath...a jack n jill...probably the biggest mess in the house right now!  They will be putting new tile down and granite countertops and painting.

Our master bath, which was a shower/tub combo, and we changed it into a walk-in shower.

Landscaping!!  Trent's parents are in town this weekend working hard to get the front yard done.  Everything was very minimal and just green filler bushes.  We have added color and made the flower beds more defined.  I saw "we", but really all I've done is take kolaches for breakfast and Sonic drinks this afternoon! :)  Isn't this tree great?!  The original owners planted it when they moved in 43 years ago!

A mimosa tree that was already there and now has a pretty flower bed around it!

 Working hard!

The shutters were taken down to sand and repaint.

All of the goodies in our driveway...yes, we have a port-a-potty, bathtub, and dumpster.  I'm sure our neighbors just love us! :)

The bathtub was a good holding spot for the crape myrtles until they get planted!

And this was one of the decisions we made this week...our kitchen cabinet doors!  They will be painted brown.

And that's where we are as far as the house goes!  I will be sure to post pics once everything is painted this next week!  We are so anxious to move in and get settled!

36 Weeks

36 Weeks...what?!?

How Far Along: 36 weeks
Size of baby: Baby A is the size of a watermelon...about 6 1/2 pounds and between 19-22 inches
Maternity Clothes: Absolutely!  Though some have become too small!
Gender: Surprise!  So I think we are finally set on a boys name...the anticipation is building!  I can't believe we don't know what we're having!
What I miss: getting around easily, having energy, being comfortable
Cravings: definitely orange juice first thing, but nothing else too crazy...one day last week though my lunch consisted of a piece of pizza, an apple, and a chocolate poptart...and it was very good! :)
Symptoms: very hot pretty much all of the time!  This past week my fingers and toes started aching and swelling more.  If I'm on my feet for awhile, then my ankles swell too but always go back down by the next morning.  And I'm definitely that pregnant lady out in public that gets all of the glances at the belly and then a sweet, sympathy smile from strangers!
Best moment of the week: We are marking things off our to do list like crazy!  We have had a very productive last 10 days in regards to house/moving/baby stuff...always a good feeling!  And I got another great report at the Dr. yesterday...everything is right on track and looking great!
Looking forward to: celebrating Trent's birthday tonight with a yummy steak dinner at one of our favorite restaurants!!  We did a lot this weekend for his birthday too...went to the movies, ate at one of his favorite restaurants, went to our new favorite frozen yogurt place, and then I got to meet him for lunch today too!  No matter how old he gets, he will always be Forever Young in my book! :)  He started off his birthday with this sweet pic of our precious niece and nephew!

Aren't they the cutest?!

We are making good progress on our new house...I will update later this week with pics!

35 Weeks

35 Weeks

How Far Along: 35 weeks
Size of baby: Baby A is the size of a honeydew...close to 6 pounds!!
Maternity Clothes: Yes!  I used to love my maternity dresses, but now they just look like tents!  Mainly sticking to the capris and shorts and about 5 tops!
Gender: Surprise!  We are still contemplating boy names...we keep going back and forth!  But we have a girl name picked out!
Movement: Yes, the movement has turned into more rolls instead of the kicks and punches.  I am still feeling the hiccups a couple of times a day!
Sleep: Sleep is still pretty good, other than getting up 3-4 times a night to use the restroom.  I'm just thankful that I am able to sleep in after Trent goes to work! :)
What I miss: getting off the couch or out of bed easily, being comfortable, sleeping on my back!
Cravings: orange juice is still the first thing I want in the mornings, but nothing too much out of the ordinary
Symptoms: HOT, HOT, HOT...I had some major hot flashes this past week and could just not get cool!  My back has been bothering me more and more, and I'm afraid this is not going to get any better until Baby A is here.
Best moment of the week: We had a major shopping/decision making week on the house!  Most all of the big things have been picked out for our contractor to do.  And we have bought all of our furniture.  Everything is just waiting for us to schedule deliveries!  On Saturday we were busy picking out wood floors, tile, carpet, light fixtures, and bedding.  We have started saying that Baby A and the house have the same due date! :)  It is exciting to really be able to picture how everything is going to be, and we can't wait to move in!
Looking forward to: my Mom is here for a couple of days!  We are busy buying all of the necessary baby things I still need, a few accessories for the house, and are getting some packing done.  So thankful for the help! :)
