Bennett at 10 Months

Oh Bennett!  10 months old already?!  And I'm only a week and 2 days late in posting...oops!

Stats: about 26 pounds and almost 32 inches tall
He actually lost almost a pound this month from the nasty stomach bug.

Eating: We are still on the same schedule.  7 oz bottles at 8:30 am, 12:30, 4:30, and 7:30.  And his biggest accomplishment in the past few weeks is that he is mostly sleeping through the night now!  About once or twice a week he wakes up about 5 for a bottle and then goes right back to sleep.  Hooray!  Only took 10 months! :) He eats oatmeal and a fruit for breakfast about 7:30, fruit and veggie for lunch at 12, and meat and veggie for dinner about 6:30.  We've tried a few table foods, and he has absolutely no interest in them!  He closes his mouth tight and wants nothing to do with it!

Personality: Adventurous, curious, charming, BUSY, social, easy going, sweet - just to name a few!  He makes us laugh all of the time!  But he is also trouble!  I can't take my eyes off of him for a second.  Bennett is into everything.  And even though he's so busy, he always needs cuddles from me for a few minutes before he's off to do something else.  So sweet!

Sleeping: Bennett goes to bed about 8pm and sleeps until about 7am.  Thankfully it seems we are making major progress sleeping through the night!  He naps from 9-10 and 1:30-3:30.

Likes: sticking out his tongue, dancing, wrestling, being outside, reading books, playing with trucks - he needs some of his own for his birthday!, singing, Mickey, the refrigerator, swimming

Dislikes: getting his diaper changed - he hates having to be still, being told no, having something taken away from him

Milestones: (mostly) sleeping through the night!!  He now has 8 teeth, 4 top and 4 bottom.  Cruising around everything.  Just in the past week or so he is standing on his own for about 5 seconds a time.  I really expect him to take off walking very soon.  Saying Mama, Dada, and Bubba very regularly and knowing who he is talking about.

Clothes: He is in mostly 12 month clothes, with a few 12-18 month things.  Size 5 diapers.  And he got his first pair of shoes on Saturday!  We were just browsing at Academy for some and found the exact ones that Graham has.  So of course we had to get them for Bennett!  He needed a size 6...yikes!

Favorite Moments: We are just enjoying our sweet, easy going baby.  We've done a ton of travelling lately and are busy with VBS at church this week.  And he is just always ready for the next adventure, adapting and being flexible, napping wherever we need him to, and just always so happy and content.

Looking forward to: planning his and Graham's birthday party!

 Oh that face!

And he's going to be my climber.  He finds ways to get off the ground all the time!

 Matching shoes for my boys!

I'm so thankful for my sweet Bennett!

Potty Training

So the time had come for Graham to be potty trained.  He's shown interest in the last few months and has even used the potty several times.  I just needed to carve out a week that we could be home and just knock it out.

The set-up: wine, M&M's, a treat bucket for peeing, a pile of bigger toys for pooping, and a pile of activities to keep us busy.  And a bottle of resolve and disinfectant wipes!

We woke up on Monday morning ready to go!

And he went potty twice in the first 20 minutes of being up!  I thought we were off to a good start, but I was trying not to get my hopes up.

 We did stickers...

 We played with playdoh...

We painted...

And he didn't have a single accident until 4:45 that afternoon!!!  He had only been up from his nap for about 20 minutes, was eating his snack, and watching Mickey, and I just think he wasn't fully awake yet.
I asked him constantly all day if he needed to go, but he was also telling me a lot that he wanted to go sit on the potty.  I didn't have to watch him like a hawk like I thought I would.
And then at 6:45 that evening, he pooped in the potty!  Huge milestone!
I fully expected to be completely wiped out at the end of the day, especially since Trent had a work dinner and wouldn't be home until after the boys were in bed, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well our day went.

Bennett had to play in the pack in play when I had to run with G to the potty - couldn't dare leave him alone without watching him!

He had a couple of accidents the next few days, but nothing major.  And we started venturing out of the house for longer periods of time each day.

 More painting!

 Playing outside.

And he filled his whole potty chart up so we went to get cupcakes!

Well after that first day he refused to even try and poop on the potty again.  Here we are 3 weeks later, and he has finally started doing it without a problem!

So that called for a trip to Toys R Us!

And he got to pick out a truck of his choice!  He was so cute looking at all of them and trying to decide what he wanted.  He finally picked a remote control dump truck!
And we were on our way to swim with friends! :)

Graham has had very few accidents these past couple of weeks.  I'm so proud of him, and I'm so glad to be on this side of potty training! :)

Fourth of July

We were so excited about a long weekend at home with not much planned!

We started off Friday evening with snow cones!

On Saturday morning we grabbed an early breakfast of pancakes at Island Grill, and then went to The Villages neighborhood parade.  It was so much fun!

G's favorite part!

My boys!

Working hard for the beads!

We came home for B to nap and then went to the pool!

B rocked his new hat!

That evening Kelsey came into town to stay with the boys while Trent and I went to the Garth Brooks concert with some friends.

Life with a toddler - Trent and I tried to take a picture before we left, but Graham insisted on being in it, but yet he refused to look at the camera!

He put on an awesome show!  Very entertaining!

Sunday morning at church with Ella, the birthday girl!

Astros Game

At the end of June we had our babysitter come stay with Bennett one Saturday afternoon so we could take Graham to the Astros game!  It was a special time with our big boy, and also a treat for him since he had an awesome week of potty training! (More on that later!)

Of course he had to take a picture with Mickey!

He enjoyed a hot dog, french fries, and ice cream!

What a fun day!
