Our Family Christmas Weekend

We had lots of fun Christmas activities planned last weekend before we travel for Christmas!
Friday night we had our favorite babysitter come keep Bennett while Graham got to go on a special date with Mommy and Daddy!

He got to pick dinner - Southwell's of course!

And then we walked around the corner to the bakery to get a yummy cookie!

We headed to church for the Really Really Big Christmas Show!

 Looking at the trains!

 Such a big boy!

He LOVED the show!  It was an amazing production!
We had such a fun night out!

And then we got home and got ready for Santa to come!  We always like to do our Santa gifts before we travel, but this is probably the last year we'll get away with it! :)

Leaving out cookies and milk before bed.
And then Santa's elves got busy!

The set-up!  Thankfully nothing was too difficult to put together!

G's easel, clothes, trash truck, and art supplies.

B's activity center, clothes, and some rattles in his stocking.
And the books were for both of them.

G checking it all out on Saturday morning!

A Barney DVD and coloring book in his stocking!

And of course he had to see what Bennett got in his stocking! :)

And he played with Bennett's toy for the majority of the day - go figure!

On Saturday afternoon we played Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus in 2 of the Christmas show performances.
Bennett slept soundly through the first one, and he was wide awake during the second show.  He just looked at the lights behind me and did great!
Thankfully we knew lots of people in the audience so friends kept texting me pictures that they took!

 Ready to go on!

On Sunday night we went to one of our favorite restaurants for our family Christmas celebration.  After dinner we drove around and looked at Christmas lights before coming home to open presents!

Such a fun weekend with my boys before a busy week of travelling for Christmas!

Bennett at 3 Months

Wow...3 months!

Stats: He weighs about 16 pounds.  We don't have to go back to the Dr. until his 4 month appointment.
Eating: Bennett eats 6 times a day, 5 oz at each feeding.  He eats about 3:30 am, 8:00, 12:00, 4:00, 7:00, and 10:00 pm.

Personality: Oh this boy, he is just the sweetest thing ever!  He's very much an observer, just watching and taking it all in.  Most of the time he's quick to smile and sometimes he'll make noises and "talk" back to you.  But he just likes to sit back and see what's going on.  He doesn't like to be laying down - he wants to sit up so he can see everything!  For the most part, he's still very calm and easy going.  He definitely likes a good schedule and routine, which is good because that's a necessity with 2 kids!

Sleeping: We had about 2 weeks of good, consistent night time feeding and right back to sleep, but this last week has been rough.  He goes to bed about 7:30 - in his crib! - at night, and sleeps great until about 3 or 3:30.  After he eats, he's been having some trouble settling down and going back to sleep.  Usually he sleeps until about 7:00 am.  He naps in his crib when we are home, and I'm so thankful he always goes down so easily!  We put his sleep sack on with arms out, read a book, sing a few songs, and put him down.  There's MAYBE  few minutes of fussiness, but most of the time he just goes right to sleep!

Likes: lights, ceiling fans, Baby Einstein DVDs, following his brother with his eyes, having someone pay attention to him, his play mat, sitting up, bath time, diaper changes, his bouncer

Dislikes: being put down in the evenings, stopping while in the car, tummy time

Milestones: sitting up in his Bumbo so well, sleeping in his crib, talking and smiling, starting to bat at and grab at toys, holding rattles, tracking really well with his eyes - even when I think I'm far away across the room, he'll still find me!

Clothes: 3 month clothes are too small and tight!  He's wearing 3-6 month and 6 month clothes.  3 month pajamas may last another week.  We just switched to size 3 diapers.  What can I say, we have a big boy! :)

Favorite Moments: Of course we love seeing his personality emerge more everyday!  Also, we played Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus for our church Christmas program yesterday.  Such a sweet and special memory that we also had with Graham 2 years ago!

Looking forward to: hopefully some easier nights! :), Graham paying more attention to Bennett - he's talking to him more and more but has still yet to hold him! :)

For these monthly pictures, Graham was running around like crazy behind me so you can see how Bennett is following him with his eyes!

 Oh this sweet face!

He has yet to lose any of his hair!  I think we are close to getting a hair cut soon!

This was too funny!  While Graham was napping, I put Mickey in front of Bennett - he loved it!  He just smiled and smiled!  Later I did it while Graham was by me, and he immediately grabbed Mickey and took him away.  And so it begins! :)

He loves his bouncer!  We actually already put the swing away because we hardly used it, and he just wanted to sit up!

Who me?!  I kept you up all night?!  Good thing I'm cute!

Trying out the exersaucer at church - we are going to get ours out in the next few weeks!

Sweet Bennett, you are the perfect addition to our family!  We love you so much!
