Summer Fun

We've done lots of fun things this summer trying to beat the heat!

 LOTS of swimming!

Going for walks and playing outside when it hasn't been too hot.

Playing at the park with Grace!

We got to toddler time at the library every Thursday if we're in town!

This sweet boy is obsessed with trucks!
And he usually has to play on the couch so little brother won't bother him! :)

 Yummy snowcones!

And way too many Sonic chocolate milkshakes to count!

 A day in Galveston!

Splash pad and picnic dinner with friends!

 Checking out his library books!

G loves him some arts and crafts!

Going crazy some evenings waiting for Trent to get home from work! :)

Growing creatures - gotta love the Target dollar aisle!

Playing at the mall with Grace!

 Bounce house with Libby!

 His new lunchbox for MDO!

Putting puzzles together!

Graham got our kitchen mat and said he was doing exercises like Mama!

Lots of learning to play together for these two!

 More painting!

Visiting Daddy at work one Friday morning!

This past Saturday we took G to the Astros game!  We all had a blast!

His favorite!  He had been talking about this the whole week leading up to the game!

 Silly boy!

 Fireworks after the game!

Bennett making a mess wherever he goes!

 Playing dress-up

 Our weekly HEB trip

And playing outside!

It's been a wonderful summer with my sweet boys!
So thankful for these days!

Bennett at 11 Months

How is my little baby Bennett going to be 1 in just a month?!  I can't believe it!
He is growing and changing every day.  And keeping me on my toes!  I've had to baby proof stuff that Graham never even thought about messing with.

Stats: I don't have official stats, but he definitely went through a growth spurt this month!
I'm guessing about 28 lbs and 33 inches.  We are scheduled for his 1 year appointment at the end of September!

Eating: Bennett is officially sleeping through the night!  Hallelujah!
We are still on the same eating schedule as before.
7:30: yogurt and oatmeal (yogurt is a new fave!)
8:30: bottle
11:30: fruit and applesauce or veggie
12:30: bottle
4:30: bottle
6:30: veggie and meat combo
7:30 bottle

Personality: fearless, curious, adventurous, social, charmer, busy, independent
He keeps us laughing all the time!  Except for when we're telling him no or taking something away from them.  But even then he'll just flash his huge smile or shake his head no at us.  It's hard to keep a straight face!  He is starting to get a lot more vocal about when he's mad or upset, for example, having a toy taken away or brother being too physical with him!  He LOVES tackling and wrestling Graham.  Bennett doesn't miss an opportunity to pounce if he sees Graham on the floor!  And he is a major climber!  He'll always hike his leg up wherever he is to see if he can climb on top.  The other morning we found him on top of the train table!

Sleeping: Bennett goes to bed about 8pm and sleeps until 6:30 or 7.
Morning nap is 9-10, and afternoon nap is 1:30-3:30 or 4.

Likes: wrestling, reading books, baths, Graham's trucks, singing, being around people, toys that make noise, the refrigerator, dancing

Dislikes: being told no and having things taken away from him, being still for a diaper change

Milestones: Bennett can stand on his won for 10+ seconds at a time.  And he is SO CLOSE to walking!  I got it on video yesterday about 5-6 steps at a time.  He is about to just take off!  He understands a handful of words: Mama, Dada, Bubba, bath, no, uh-oh

Clothes: Bennett is wearing some 12 months, lots of 12-18 months, and some 18 month clothes.  He's still in size 5 diapers.  And he needs a size 6 in shoes because his feet are so wide/fat! :)

Favorite Moments: I'm just enjoying every single day at home with my boys.  Watching them play together, running errands, playing with friends, discovering new things - I'm just soaking it all in and am so thankful!  Can time just freeze?!

Looking forward to: Graham starts back to MDO in a few weeks so Bennett and I will have lots of time just the 2 of us!  We are doing music class at church, and I'm excited to be able to focus on just him and have activities scheduled that are just for him!

 All. The. Time.

Sweet Bennett!  We sure do love you!
