Weekend Wrap-up

A quick recap of our fun weekend!

Enjoying some patio time on Friday before naps!

Sweet B had trouble napping so he ended up in my lap!

That evening Trent and I went to dinner with some of his friends from work.  It was such a nice night out!

On Saturday morning, Trent and Graham made pancakes and then headed out to run a few errands.  They went to Best Buy, Academy, Sonic, and Spec's.  Graham used his Valentine money from Nana and Bop to buy a chocolate milkshake, of course! :)

 Happy boy!

 Showing me his new shoes!

We both LOVE the face that he can put them on by himself!
If only I had a penny for every time I heard, "Graham do it all by myself," I would be a rich woman!  Gotta love 2 year olds...

Bennett tried out the jumparoo for the first time, and clearly he loved it!

And G wanted his picture taken too!

After naps and playing outside, we had a pizza picnic for dinner!

Happy boy before church on Sunday morning!

I got a quick pic of these two cuties in class on Sunday morning!

My big boy and me going to pick up lunch after church.  Why does he look so old?!

This toy has been one of Graham's favorites for two years, and now Bennett loves it too!
I love seeing them play together!

Happy Monday!  I hope we can all stay warm this week!

Bennett at 5 Months

Here is our big 5 month old!  I'm so thankful for our healthy, happy, growing baby boy.  I can't believe my next post for him will be half a year - no way!

Stats: Thankfully we haven't been to the Dr. since his 4 month appointment.  But he has definitely grown since then!  A couple pounds heavier and definitely a lot longer.  He's growing like crazy!

Eating: We are still on pretty much the same schedule but with a lot better night time feedings.  He'll wake up to eat between 3:30-5 and then will eat at 7:00, 10:00, 1:00, 4:00, 7:00, and 10:00.  His night time feeding has gotten to be a lot more consistent, and he's been great about going right back to sleep after eating thankfully.  He eats 5-6 oz at each feeding.  We are going to start rice cereal and a veggie or two in the next few weeks.

Personality: Talkative, social, happy, flexible, easy going, sweet, likes a schedule and routine, observant - just a few words to describe Bennett!

Sleeping: He wakes up between 6:30-7 in the mornings.  He takes 2 short naps about 8:15 and 10:45, usually the second one is on the go in his car seat!  In the afternoons he takes a nap at 1:30.  He'll sleep anywhere from 2-3 hours.  If he wakes up before 4 then he'll take another quick nap about 5:15.  Bedtime is between 7-7:30.

Likes: ceiling fans, lights, watching whatever his brother his doing, watching Mickey - thanks to Graham!, toys that make noise, his exersaucer, rocking, talking, his toes, books

Dislikes: having his nose wiped, water on his face in the bath, stopping in the car, nobody paying attention to him

Milestones: Bennett slept through the night a few times!  But the problem we ran into is that he would wake up about 5:30 or 6 to eat and then want to be up for the day.  Too early for me!  So if he wakes me up after 3:30 then I go ahead and feed him so he'll sleep later.
He has rolled from tummy to back a few times, but still mostly just back to tummy!
Bennett's hair is getting curly!  I look back at his 4 month pictures and can't believe how much different it looks.
He does a great job grabbing and holding onto toys.
He likes to put weight on his legs and can stand while holding onto your hands for a long time.  He always has the biggest smile and is so proud of himself!
Bennett is starting to giggle a lot more, and I just know he's on the verge of a good belly laugh.
This one I'm not ready for - when he's on his belly, he'll pull his knees up under him and lunge forward on his face.  He can get to a toy that he wants easily!
Bennett is working so hard on sitting up.  He does a good job not falling forward, he usually falls to one side or the other.  So if I hold his knees he can stay up pretty well.

Clothes: Bennett is in 6 month and 6-9 month clothes.  His 6 month pajamas have gotten too small just in the past few days so now he's in 9 months!  Some clothes that Graham wore well into April and May are already really snug on Bennett!  Ha so much for hand me downs!  We just switched to size 4 diapers this week to try and help with blow outs.  It's almost a daily occurrence, and I'm not sure if anything will contain it sometimes!

Favorite Moments: I love seeing the boys interact more and more.  Graham loves to bring him toys and play next to him on the floor.  And of course everything that Graham does, Bennett thinks it's hilarious!  I'm pretty sure he'll laugh at him first!  We love going to get Bennett out of bed because he just smiles and smiles when he sees our faces pop up over the crib!

Looking forward to: nothing in particular, just seeing his personality come out even more!  I am looking forward to him sitting up and being able to play and be entertained with even more things.

Loving parachute time at the library!

 Cute boy in the mirror!

What a sweet, special boy our Bennett is!  We love him so!

The Zoo, A Trip to Waco, and Valentine's Weekend

We had a fun and busy week with some beautiful weather!  I'm so thankful we were able to spend lots of time outside, especially with how cold it got today!

On Monday we went to the zoo with Stephanie and Joanna!

Graham and Anna ready to see the elephants.

 He LOVES the carousel!

I wish you could hear the giggles in this picture!  Graham and Grace loved petting the goats!

 The big kids!

And we finally got a picture of us!  I'm so so so thankful for these sweet friends.

 And all of our kiddos!
Bennett, Graham, Grace, James - who is hidden behind Grace!, August, and Anna!

Successful morning at the zoo?  Both boys slept for 3 hours that afternoon! :)

 Playing outside after naps.

Picnic lunch on Tuesday after school.

And this one loves being outside just as much as his brother!

On Wednesday afternoon the boys and I headed to Waco to celebrate Bop's birthday!
As soon as we got there Graham was ready to feed the ducks and play at the park!
And then he could hardly wait for Bop to blow out the candles so he could eat a cupcake!

On Thursday morning we visited Bop at school and took him coffee.

And then Graham ran wild at the bounce house place!  He went non stop for about an hour and a half, and I had to bribe him to leave to avoid a meltdown!  Such a great place on a cold, winter day.

Thankfully it had warmed up after naps so we were able to play outside.  And Gran and Poppa came over for dinner and a quick visit!

G made cookies with Nana before bed that night!  He thinks he can do it, "All by myself!"  That would explain how brown sugar ended up all over the table! :)

 The best part!

On Friday morning we found a great new park that was perfect for Graham.  We played for awhile, had lunch at McAlister's, and then went by Bop's school to say bye before hitting the road!  Always such a great time in Waco!

Trent was already home from work when we got home, and we were so excited to see him!  We picked up our favorite Mexican food and enjoyed a relaxing evening at home.

Our Valentine's set-up on Saturday morning!

And my two little Valentine's! :)
The boys headed to a pancake breakfast at church for dads and kids while I enjoyed a pedicure!  It was perfect!  We then went to a 3 year old birthday party at a park, and it was gorgeous weather and so fun!   Somehow I didn't get a single picture.

 Playing outside after nap time!

 Reading Bennett a book!

My Valentine!  He grilled steaks, and we enjoyed dinner on the patio with our boys.

G and I watched Mickey and did some puzzles before bed - two of his favorite things!
Trent and I watched Fury that night - great movie!

Sunday morning was church and Sunday school before coming home for lunch and naps.
Then we had a special treat for Graham!
We took him to see Sesame Street Live!

 Eating dinner before the show.

His treat that he picked out!

We love getting to do special things with just our big boy!

The show was great!  Lots of dancing and singing.  G was pretty subdued and mesmerized the whole time, just taking it all in!

The crafts my boys made at church on Saturday morning.  Love these!
Such a fun weekend celebrating Valentine's Day with my boys!

Happy Monday!
