7 Months

What a fun month this has been!  I feel like Graham is a whole new baby, and he is discovering and learning new things every single day.  It is so much fun watching his little brain working and to see how determined he is to do something.

Stats: We didn't have to go to the Dr. this month so I don't know his weight, but I'm guessing it is just over 20 lbs.  He's a chunk!  And in some recent pics, he looks so long!

Milestones: Graham was super busy this month learning how to do new things!  He started off with mastering his sitting, then got two teeth that same week, and then started crawling the next week!  He's just now realizing that by crawling he can go anywhere he wants.  Graham is also pulling up on everything, whether is it sturdy or not!  I have to be right there to make sure he doesn't fall and hurt himself.  He is still figuring out his spatial awareness...he sometimes gets too close to things but doesn't realize how little room he has and then hits his head.  It's a work in progress!

Behavior: Graham is such a happy baby!  He's so easy-going and just goes and does whatever!  He has never met a stranger...G is super social!  At gym class the other day, all of the babies were sitting in a circle, and Graham just took off crawling across the circle talking and smiling at anybody who would pay attention to him!  He has been going through a little bit of separation anxiety lately, mostly at home.  He sometimes freaks out when I leave the room, even for just a second!  And he has been a little clingier than normal lately.  Graham is so curious and observant all of the time.  He just studies toys, people, and things in such a serious way!  He has definitely developed a more serious face and mood this month.

Sleep: Graham goes to bed about 8:00 every night.  He usually sleeps until about 6, then eats, and goes right back to sleep until about 8:30.  BUT just in the last week, he has slept until at least 7:30 four nights!  And I feel like we have finally crossed a hurdle with his naps.  For about 10 days now, he has taken at least one nap a day that is longer than an hour!  There have even been several that have been close to 2 hours or even longer!  Depending on how long his naps are, he takes either 2 or 3 naps a day.  Some days he can go without his evening nap, but others he still catnaps about 5:30-6.

Clothes: He is wearing 6-9 month and 6-12 month onesies.  His pajamas are all 6 months, and he has worn them since Christmas...just in the past week they have become quiet snug!  We have lots of spring 9 month clothes that still look a tad too big, but I know we will be in them soon!  He is still in size 3 diapers.

Food: Graham is taking 5 bottles a day.  We dropped down to 4 for a couple of weeks, but then he went through a growth spurt and we added one back in.  His first bottle of the day is 6 oz, and the rest are 5.  Graham usually eats about 6, 10, 1:30, 4:30, and 7:30.  (I finally feel like we've found a good balance with his food because his spitting-up has stopped almost completely!)  He eats 2-3 meals a day, depending on our schedule.  He has tried and loves sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, peas, green beans, mangoes, peaches, apples, pears, and bananas.  He gets super excited when he is in his high chair and kicks his legs, shakes his head, and bounces his legs...it is hilarious to watch!

Likes: swimming, toys that make noise or play music, hitting toys together to make a loud sound, playing with friends, riding in the grocery cart, swinging, being outside, eating, crawling, bath time, walking by holding onto our fingers, reading books - he LOVES to read, crawling all over me and Trent like we're a jungle gym, talking to his toys, squealing - he has picked up a high pitch squeal recently that is so funny to hear!, he LOVES  for me to take pics on my phone of us and then look at it...he just laughs and laughs!, pacifiers...just in the past week or so - I think mainly because of him teething, having his hair brushed after bath time

Dislikes: sitting, being restrained, having his nose wiped

Favorite Moment: It was so fun seeing him learn and do so many new things this month.  I am so proud of how hard he works to figure something out; he is a very determined little boy!  Yes, it is a whole new, exhausting world with him being mobile, but I'm just thankful that he is healthy and developing as he should be.  Also, he plays independently very well, and he will be playing for awhile and then look around to find me, give me a huge smile, and then go right back to playing.  It melts my heart every time!  He just wants to make sure that I'm still there! :)  I love seeing him feel so safe and secure.  AND I'm loving that he is now napping longer!  It makes SUCH big difference, for both of us!

Most Challenging: His mobility!  Somebody has to be right next to him at all times when he gets going because he just gets into everything.  The scariest thing is how much he is pulling up on things and falling.  He is still learning his limitations!

Mr. Serious

We love you more than you'll ever know, Graham!  You bring us so much joy and laughter!  I can't believe you're my big 7 month old!
