South Carolina Beach Vacation

Last Friday we flew to Charleston for our family vacation!  We rented a condo on the beach at Wild Dunes Resort for the long weekend.  We had a great trip despite all of the rain.

At the airport and ready to go!

So much to look at while waiting for our flight!

 My traveling buddies!

Ready to go!

I was worried about traveling with this cute one.  He did really well except for about ten minutes of the 2 hour flight.  Not bad!

Thank you Pinterest for some busy bag activities!

We got there on Friday evening, drove to our condo, made a quick grocery store run, and went to bed praying for sunshine!

And we woke up to this view on Saturday morning!

We spent about 3 hours on the beach that morning before heading in for lunch.

They loved to dig in the sand and play at the edge of the water!

Post nap shenanigans!  It started raining right after lunch that day thanks to Tropical Storm Bonnie.

Family game of domino's!

Graham is actually really good and loves playing!

Cheers!

Headed out to dinner in the rain

Dinner at Coconut Joe's on the beach

On Sunday morning we headed into Charleston to go to the aquarium.  It was a great place to spend a rainy morning!

Looking at the bald eagle

And looking at a snake!

We got to watch a 15 minute clip of Ice Age in the 3D theater.  It was so fun, and the boys loved it!

Waiting to eat lunch in Charleston.  it was raining off and on but nothing too terrible.

There was a break in the rain when we got back to the condo for naps so I headed to the beach to read.

And then I came back upstairs to this!

Snacks on the beach

More digging and playing!  I think here they were building a monster truck ramp!

Yea for sunshine!

Dinner that night at the resort.

My crazy boys!

The boardwalk down to the beach.  These houses were so cute!

Ice cream for desert on the boardwalk!

Love them!

So thankful for this sweet family of mine!

Monday morning we woke up to sunshine!!

We spent 3 hours on the beach that morning before heading up for lunch.
Here's a pic of how drastic the high and low tide are.  They set up our chairs way back from the beach, but in the afternoon we were only about 10 feet from the water.

G pulled B around in the wagon for a long time!  They had the best time!

 Snack break!

My nap time view!  Trent and I split nap time that afternoon and each got some time on the beach.

And one last time after naps to build and play in the water.  Bennett LOVED going into the water!  Graham, not so much!

Family selfie!

One last beach walk!  Graham called these pirate adventures!

Dinner at the resort for our last night.  And it was raining again.

Flying home on Tuesday morning.  Graham is now obsessed with airplanes and has been acting out all of the workers and their jobs.

We made so many great memories and had so much fun on vacation!

  1. How fun! I'm glad you were able to spend as much time on the beach without rain. They look so cute in their hats with the big brims. I'm so glad Bennett was good on the airplane. I will be ready to be on the beach with them at Port Aransas!
