Fiesta Bowl

On Sunday, December 29th, we were ready to head to one of our favorite places - Scottsdale - for vacation and to cheer for our Bears in the Fiesta Bowl!  We flew out of Austin since we were already going to be in Marble Falls, and were excited that my parents traveled with us as well!

It was pretty funny watching Trent try to reorganize and repack the car with all of our luggage and now Christmas presents.  But we made it work!

Waiting for our flight!

My kind of flight! :)

I loved having my mom to talk to while the boys slept!

By the time we got to our hotel on Sunday evening, it was getting to be pretty late so we enjoyed a quick dinner on the patio by the fire pits before crashing for the night.

The boys played golf on Monday morning.  My mom, Graham, and I decided to check out the Scottsdale Railroad Museum.  I would highly recommend it!  They had a fun train to ride, a carousel, a huge playground, and tons of green space to run and play.  Graham loved it!

Waiting for the train!

We couldn't have asked for better weather that week - 70's and sunny everyday!

Next up, the carousel!

G got to ride twice, once with me and then with Nana!

Nana then treated us to a snack!

Ice cream at 10:30 in the morning?!  Only on vacation and when you're with Nana!

We went back to the resort and had lunch on the patio at the golf clubhouse.  The boys joined us after their fun round of golf.  We enjoyed a great lunch outside!

After lunch, it was time for Graham to take a nap.  Trent decided to take one as well so my mom, dad, and I all headed to the pool!  It was awesome!

My view

Just relaxing!

That evening we went downstairs on the patio by the fire pits to watch the bag piper.  He walks up the 18th green every night at sunset and plays for an hour.

We then went to dinner at another resort, the same one I stayed at for my 30th birthday trip.  We ate at the Mexican food restaurant and then got hot chocolate and rode the train around the property to see all of their Christmas displays.  It was such a fun night!

Dad and me!

The resort was beautifully decorated!

My mom, Trent, Graham, and I then set out to hike at Pinnacle Peak.  The views were gorgeous!

We then had lunch at the golf club house outside again, and then hit up the pool during naptime!  If only I could go to the pool everyday during naptime! :)

My view...

Late that afternoon it was time to go to the Baylor team hotel for the pep rally!

Family pic!

My boys!

G and Bop doing the tuba dance!

Graham got pretty restless pretty quickly so my mom and I went to the back of the crowd to let him run around.  The next thing we know, we turn around and the football team is heading directly at us!  Graham got lots of high fives from the players!

We then went into the lobby to explore.  And look who we stumbled upon!

RGIII!!!

We had a delicious dinner at Grimaldi's Pizza for New Year's Eve!

My date!

And my parents!

They gave Graham dough to play with, and he loved it!

After dinner and back at the resort, the boys hung out by the fire pits for awhile, and my mom and I put Graham to bed.  The boys joined us shortly before 10:00 with champagne so we toasted to the Times Square ball drop and called it a night!

Cheers!

G was up early every morning, and of course we stuffed him with puffs to try and keep him somewhat quiet!

We went for a scenic New Year's Day drive on Wednesday morning.

And then had lunch on the patio by the pool!

After naptime that day, it was finally time to head to the game!!

First stop: the Vitek's trailer for a free gut-pak!  Yummy!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this pic!  Walking into the stadium!

So excited!  Graham had his own seat, and it was a lifesaver.  He mostly just played on the ground between me and Trent.  And he didn't get fussy until about 5 minutes left in the game, which we all were at that point!  He was up WAAAYYY past his bedtime, but he was as happy as can be and went to sleep like a champ when we got back to the hotel.  So thankful!

 The whole fam!

 So big!

 Here come the Bears!

And that's enough about the game! :)
We love our Bears and can't wait for next season in the new stadium!

Thursday morning breakfast before leaving for the airport.

He slept most of the way from Phoenix to Denver.

Our beautiful view flying into Denver.

Gorgeous!

After a quick lunch and layover, we were on our way back to Austin and then we were home!

It was the trip of a lifetime with so many great memories!  It is always fun traveling with my boys.  And it was an added bonus taking such a great vacation with my parents!  I think they now know why we love Scottsdale so much!

This boy was happy to be home after 13 days of travelling!  He was the best little traveler!

Sic' em Bears!
