Two Months

Graham was two months old yesterday!  I just didn't get a chance to post last night due to all of the fun Halloween activities!  We had a very busy two month birthday!  So please forgive his fussy pictures...it had been a long day!  He is hardly ever fussy, I promise!  But he had a long day with shots and then being so cute as a giraffe!

Stats: Graham weighs 10 lbs 1 ounce!  We are very happy with this...it has been a long road to get here!  He didn't get back up to his birth weight until he was 6 weeks old, and we had to start supplementing with formula.  He was in the 1st percentile for weight...but now he is in the 8th!!  Turns out he just wasn't getting enough milk nursing so now I pump for each feeding, and he gets formula at each feeding for a total of 4 ounces.  He is eating 7 times a day, but I'm hoping to transition to just 6 a day next week and give him 5 ounces at each feeding.  He is 23 1/4 inches long, which is in the 68th percentile.  He was a champ for his shots...he cried out as he got them but then calmed down very quickly.  I could tell he was pretty uncomfortable yesterday afternoon, but then he napped well all evening, slept great last night, and woke up back to normal today!

Milestones: Graham has become so interactive!  He focuses so well on our faces and follows us around the room.  He loves to talk to us by cooing and giggling.  I love to see his sweet smiles too!  He loves tummy time, and it is very impressive how long he can hold his head up.  I love to lean him up now when he is in our laps or against something to prop him.

Falling over!  Still working on sitting up! :)
Behavior: Graham is such a calm and happy baby.  He sometimes gets fussy in the evenings for just a little bit.  He is so easy to take places with us and is a good traveler.  We get out of the house everyday to run errands or hang out with friends, and he always just sleeps away without any problems!  He loves to spend time on his play mat, in his swing, and in his nap nanny.  He can usually spend about 30 minutes on each before getting fussy, but he can stay in his swing and sleep forever!  He is currently napping there now! :)

Sleep: Ahhh this has been so much better!  Right when Graham turned one month old, he started going longer stretches at night.  He currently takes his last bottle between 9:30-10.  He is asleep by 10:30 at the latest, and he usually wakes up anytime between 4-5.  He then goes back down for about another 3 1/2 hours.  So we generally start our day between 7:30-8:00.  Very manageable!  After he eats during the day, he will stay awake for about 45 minutes and then sleep for about 45 minutes.  We have been using Babywise  as a guideline, and it has worked very well for us!  Graham loves a schedule, just like his mama!  He has been sleeping in his room since he was about 5 weeks old.  He is still in the bassinet...he just sleeps so well in it that I hate to try anything new!  But I know we need to move to the crib eventually! :)

Clothes: Graham finally outgrew some newborn clothes in the last two weeks!  They got too short before they were too tight since he is so long.  He is now in 0-3 and 3 month onesies.  He can wear both 0-3 and 3-6 pants, we just have to roll them up a little bit! His pajamas are 3 month.

Favorite Moments: It has been so fun having Graham become more and more interactive.  His sweet personality is starting to show, and he makes so many funny faces!  We have traveled a couple of weekends with Graham, and it has been so nice and easy that he just tags along without any problems!  It has also been great this month seeing Graham gain so much weight...I am so thankful we figured out what works best for him to get the nutrition that he needs!  I have also really enjoyed getting on a schedule and having consistent eating times from day to day.

Likes: eating, sleeping, being outside/going on walks, his swing, paci, tummy time on our chests, napping in our arms, baths, stretching, car rides, ceiling fans, lights

Dislikes: getting out of the bath, diaper changes (although this has gotten better, not as much screaming!), being covered with a blanket

Looking forward to: seeing Graham continuing to become even more interactive, sitting up, introducing him to lots of friends at Baylor Homecoming this weekend, Thanksgiving with Graham

This month has been so great.  I really feel like we have gotten into a good groove with Graham.  We love figuring him out and what he likes and dislikes.  We know his cries and faces better each day.  Graham and I survived our first 2 nights alone when Trent traveled to Denver last week for work.

Yes, mid spit up...
Graham is such a joy and blessing!  Trent and I find ourselves smiling and laughing at him constantly.  We have so much fun in the evenings and on the weekends as our family of 3!  Cheers to all of us surviving the first 2 months! :)
